Yesterday on twitter a bunch of guys and I were lamenting about how there are no Wonder Woman comics being made for their daughters and nieces. That night I started designing a Wonder Woman for a comic aimed at young girls and this is what I came up with. I want to draw more of her soon, maybe even do a full cover thing.

DC - you need to hire this man and do this comic. I mean, LOOK AT IT!

This was a fun one, and a real team effort nailing the concept....

I’ve practiced Aikido since 2006 and try to drop some techniques into fight choreography whenever the opportunity arises. All-New X-Men #7 featured a fight training sequence between Kitty and Bobby, and I thought it’d be fun to throw in a variation on one of my favorite throws. I recruited a number of the instructors at my home dojo, Aikido of Austin, to help me out. (Which means they got to throw me around for half an hour.)

Nage (person performing the throw): Cody Cowan, 2nd Degree Black Belt.

Uke (person being thrown): yours truly.

All-New X-Men #6 is out TODAY!

To celebrate the release of my first issue of All-New X-Men, I’ll be making giclée Artist’s Proofs of my digital work from the book available for sale tomorrow, Jan 17. Below you can see the Artists Proofs from several pages of the book that have already been released in online previews.

About Artist’s Proofs

In order to produce my highly precise and technical style, I draw the majority of my interior artwork digitally at nearly four times the resolution of an actual comic page. As part of this process, I then create black and white giclée proofs to judge the quality of the finished art, printed at the same incredibly high resolution as it was created.

When each book is released, I will make a single Artist’s Proof of each page available for sale.

These Artist’s Proofs were made in Austin, Texas using an Epson Stylus Photo 1400 printer on 11”x17” Strathmore 500 Series Plate Bristol. Each Artist’s Proof is signed and labelled by the artist.
